The famous Christmas display is back
We’re listening to the locals
We know that our wonderful building holds a place in Hull’s heart, and we’ve been encouraging residents to share their HoH memories across social media. We’ve had a fantastic response and many of you have been sharing nostalgic moments of visits to Pickadish, the old school interiors, visits to the record store and most of all, festive memories of trips to see Santa and the famous window displays.
After an influx of positive messages and lots of comments from the general public we decided to reinstate the Christmas display just in time for the festive period. Linking up with the rest of the city we revealed our glistening lights during the Hull switch on.
We love how passionate you Hullians are about the regeneration and redevelopment of the city and we’re absolutely thrilled to be a part of this. We’ve had incredible insight from our Twitter campaign and it’s great to see just how many fond memories people have of the building.
We’re committed to restoring the building to its rightful place at the heart of Hull City Centre and is investing a lot of time and effort to ensure this happens. As we move forward in the development process, we’re keen to hear people’s ideas and we want to know what people loved about the building.
We’d like to thank local contractors, Steve Campbell Electrics who worked tirelessly to ensure that the lights were fitted out in time for the big switch on.
We hope that you enjoy the Christmas lights – Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all the team at Hammonds of Hull.
